Monteverdi Dress Rehearsal

Last night was the last dress rehearsal before tonight’s Monteverdi Vespers performance at St. Theresa’s Co-Cathedral. It was the first time we went straight through the work, stopping after No. 10 Lauda Jerusalem, where in the concert there will be a 20-minute intermission. The first half lasts nearly an hour, but the second half is shorter, about 40 minutes.

The last three nights there have been services in St. Theresa’s Co-Cathedral right up until the time of our rehearsal, and with so many bodies helping, we’ve been able to set up for the concert in record time.

I was happy to open the Star-Advertiser newspaper this morning and find that Steven Mark had written a feature article on the Monteverdi concerts, which you can find by clicking here.

By the way, I wish to thank Andrew Fink for taking all these pictures of our rehearsals. Obviously I couldn’t take the pictures myself since I was playing the organ!

See you tonight! It will be an experience you will long remember!
