Good news!

I opened the newspaper this morning to the headlines, VACCINE ACCESS EXPANDS, with the good news that people in my age group are now eligible for the coronavirus vaccine. My doctor’s office called me in the early afternoon to schedule a vaccine appointment which will take place on Tuesday, just four days from now. Yippee!

Concerned friends have asked me about the state of my eyes, since I was complaining recently about not being able to see well. I went to my retinal specialist last month who assured me that the condition was definitely “fixable” with YAG laser capsulotomy to treat a secondary cataract—that procedure took place at the end of February. It was like a miracle—my vision in that eye went from 20/60 to 20/25 in the matter of a couple of minutes!

Now it’s time to have cataract surgery on the other eye, and I went to the eye surgeon this afternoon to set the appointment. I figured out that in the next four weeks I have scheduled 12 (no kidding!) medical appointments including pre- and post-op check-ins with the ophthalmologist, the eye surgeon, the retina specialist, my primary care physician (to make sure I’m fit for cataract surgery), my dentist (6 month checkup), my dermatologist (scar treatment), and the first of the vaccination doses!

In answer to a request as a result of yesterday’s post about Joey Fala, I am here furnishing links to his educational videos about the tracker organ.

Part I – Introduction

Part II – Tracker action

Part III – Pipes, ranks and stops

Hey, in one of these episodes, Joey played the Allegretto from Mendelssohn’s Sonata in B-flat— my organ prelude for this coming Sunday!
