How many times have I heard that? It’s true that when people retire, they often think about writing a book about their life’s experiences. Hey, there’s even a book on how to do it!
(I have not read this book, so I have no idea whether it’s any good or not!)
Well, instead of writing a book, I’m updating this blog, and reliving many of the experiences I had from eleven years ago — that’s when I starting writing this blog.
Today I updated these posts from 2010, when we visited Paris—my first visit to the city in 43 years since being a student there in 1968.

- 07/05 | In the footsteps of Saint-Saens, Fauré and Chopin – our visit to St. Severin, the Church of the Madeleine, and St. Ephrem, where we attended an all-Chopin recital
- 07/04 | The Sacraments in St Sulpice and Notre Dame – a memorable visit to the church where I heard Marcel Dupré play three services every Sunday when I studied with him in 1968. We also attended an organ recital at Notre Dame. Now I treasure these photos taken before the devastating fire.
- 07/03 | Return to Meudon – I added more photos to this post in our visit to Marcel Dupré’s former home.
In updating the posts, I’m finding that it’s actually easier to locate all my old photos from my phone, so I am actually uploading more photos in addition to just updating the links to the previous ones.
I encourage you to click the links above to “travel along with me” in our trip to France in 2010. I will be letting you know of my progress with the old posts and we can all relive these experiences together.
