The Morning After

When I was sent the invitation to Joey Fala and Sarah Jones’ wedding, I had to RSVP to several different events—the Bridal Tea, the Rehearsal Dinner, the Wedding Reception, and this morning’s Farewell Brunch at Greg and Susan Jones’ lovely and large family home.

Sarah’s dad looks very cheerful for the morning after!

Who else would schedule a big brunch on The Morning After! I felt badly about forgetting to take pictures of the yummy North Carolina wedding reception last night, so I will make up for it by showing today’s brunch.

I must say, though, most everyone looked pretty chipper after a long but glorious day.

I had one last photo with Joey and Sarah before I had to rush to the car rental agency at the airport. I had about 45 minutes to get there before I was charged another day. Thankfully I made it with minutes to spare, but I surely worried all the way over there when my GPS led me through many picturesque but small country roads. Yikes!

This has been a very brief stopover (just TWO DAYS!) in North Carolina but I’m so grateful for this opportunity to share in Joey and Sarah’s celebration. As Sarah’s mom related in her homily about the innocent joy of the child who exclaimed “WOW!” after hearing the Boston Handel and Haydn Society performance, we too say “WOW” to this happy union and these two glorious days. (I actually wrote a post about the child, “Innocent joy.” The boy was found after intense media reporting and we learned he was autistic and non-verbal)

Joey and Sarah are off to their honeymoon in Hawaii (where else?!) and I am catching a plane to London via Washington DC.

I wish Joey and Sarah a long and happy life together!
