Cinderella night

You know the story of Cinderella, right? It’s the story of a young woman living in unfortunate circumstances, who gets to dance with the prince at the ball, then loses her glass slipper.

If you check Wikipedia, Cinderella can be an analogy which can mean: “one whose attributes were unrecognized, or one who unexpectedly achieves recognition or success after a period of obscurity and neglect.”

Well, in my speech I did say that I am mostly in the background, but I did get to dress up when I was honored by the Oahu Choral Society’s Vivace! a few weeks ago. I didn’t lose my shoe, but tripped on it! (Neither was there any prince that I know of—LOL!) I know it’s been a few weeks, but I perhaps thought you’d like to see the photos from Vivace! that were taken by the professional photographer, Dave Miyamoto.

My former colleague at Iolani School, John Alexander, wrote this to me:

Mahalo nui for including me in the festivities! You looked gorgeous — I think we were all a bit surprised to see the glammed-up version of you! But mostly you looked happy; happier than I’ve ever seen you. God bless!
