I am now in my beautiful hotel in Iceland, and finally, I have a fast internet connection, after suffering through spotty Wi-Fi throughout Ireland. Some of you who have read my posts about the Hawaii Masterworks Chorus were perhaps wondering about our performances and how we sounded in those historic churches.

The Ireland tour repertoire was a mix of sacred and secular, classical and Hawaiian. Most performances were with piano or organ but then we performed the Fauré Requiem in its entirety, with the Dublin Symphony in our final concert at St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Out of all our performances, I think I will never forget Naomi’s sweet voice singing the Pie Jesu in that historic building—her pure voice just soared over the muted strings. And Buz Tennent sang a heroic Libera me. The choir sounded like a beautiful rainbow over the orchestra!
