Organists and Organ Playing

A labor of love

When I came to the church yesterday to teach organ lessons, you can imagine my surprise and delight when I saw this:

Carol Langne condensed 35 years of my life into a bulletin board.

As you may recall from a previous post, “Cantate Domino,” the Lutheran Church of Honolulu is blessed with an amazing array of talented artists and musicians, and one of those is Carol Langner, whom I have dubbed The Queen of the Bulletin Boards. Retired from the University of Hawaii Art Department, Carol has basically used these two 47″-wide courtyard bulletin boards as a means of artistic expression. Parishioners and visitors alike have marvelled at her informative, imaginative and creative displays. So you won’t be surprised when I tell you that to be “Bulletin-Boarded” by Carol Langner is one of the greatest honors!

You can click each photo below to enlarge the text. By the way, when Carol was researching the information for the board, she looked through my old blog posts. I in fact created a page just for her (and for anyone else who wants to look something up). Look at the top, to the left, and you’ll see a new tab labeled “Archives.” There you will find a complete list of all the Insanity posts I have written, all 562 of them!
