Organists and Organ Playing

131 Countries!

Last night I got a report from WordPress.com which sends a summary of statistics on the blog, Another Year of Insanity:

4,329 films were submitted to the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. This blog had 41,000 views in 2012. If each view were a film, this blog would power 9 Film Festivals. In 2012, there were 149 new posts, growing the total archive of this blog to 503 posts.

Since I only started tracking statistics six months into writing the blog, my total pageviews number a staggering 70,000! But the statistic that jumped out the most at me was this one:

My blog was viewed by people in 131 countries!
My blog was viewed by people in 131 countries!

Most visitors came from the United States (26,299), the United Kingdom (2,215) and Germany (800) were also top countries. Other countries included Russia, Brazil, Argentina, India, Australia, Spain, and many others. I’m also surprised to learn that my biggest day was September 12th, with 2,926 page views and the page that got the most readership was titled Soli Deo Gloria in which I questioned the appropriateness of applause in worship.

Many people have asked me to continue writing on church music, organs, organists, teaching, and the people of LCH and I plan to do so, as long as people keep reading. I am not retired from playing the organ or teaching and in fact look forward to musical travels in 2013. I will be giving a workshop on teaching organ to young children in June.

Stay tuned, and thank you for reading!
