Before this trip began, I tried to talk myself out of signing up for the Galician dinner, described as follows:
For a true taste of Galicia, sit down to a succulent dinner at a local restaurant in Santiago de Compostela. Savor the freshest seafood and meat specialties Spain has to offer as you choose from a variety of menu options. As you dine, enjoy some of the region’s finest wines including Ribiero, Godello, or Albariño. At the end of the meal, observe the preparation ritual of Queimada, a drink of distilled spirits blended with herbs, fruits, and spices.
At $89/person, I was sure I could find something to eat that was less expensive. But others in my group talked me into it. When am I ever going to come this way again?
I can tell you the dinner was worth every penny! The food was fresh and came quickly, and the portions were huge. The calamari was probably the best I’ve ever tasted!
It was a feast!
Looks like a good time was had by all! jb
