We reach a milestone

Sometime today we passed the 10,000 mark in number of page views of this blog for this year. Wow! That is flabbergasting! I only started tracking statistics as of January 1, 2011 so it’s beyond overwhelming to know that the blog has reached so many people this year.

I hope that what I’ve written has been of interest — our aim in creating the blog was to attract attention to the  music program of the Lutheran Church of Honolulu — and I’m confident that we’ve achieved our goal if our sold-out audiences this season are any indication. A complete stranger came  up to me at one of Bach “Mass in B Minor” concerts and said to me, “I’ve read every word of your blogs!” And someone else said, “You are the Queen of  Blogging!” I have tried to document as much as I can of this remarkable year, in addition to reminiscing about what has happened in the past. I hope to perhaps make a slideshow from the nearly 2000 photos I have taken this year!

We are continuing to clean out Carl’s church office and often shake our heads in disbelief at the volume of music (and paper!) we have produced over these many years. In a previous post, I listed Carl’s tenure at LCH as being from 1973 to 2011. However, this is slightly incorrect — he actually was hired as organist the first week in December 1972, and in 1997 we celebrated his 25th anniversary. So I have instructed Georgine Stark to put his dates as 1972 to 2011 on the T-Shirt.

By the way, if you would like to order a Carl Crosier commemorative T-Shirt ($15 each) with the names of the major choral works performed during his tenure, please add $5 shipping (total $20 each shirt) in case you live on the mainland, or even if you live on the other side of the island and don’t want to pick up your shirt in person. Send your orders (indicate S, M, L, XL, or XXL — all adult sizes) to the Lutheran Church of Honolulu, 1730 Punahou Street, Honolulu, HI  96822, but make your checks payable to Georgine Stark. We need to receive your order (and check) by June 12th. T-Shirts will be ready for pickup on Sunday, July 10th.

Sorry, we can’t make children’s sizes. Can you imagine trying to list all the major choral works on a small shirt?! I don’t think there would be enough fabric in order to accomplish this!
