There are two times of the year when I scour the ads in the newspaper — and that’s just before Christmas and Easter. I’m talking specifically about the church ads, when various churches around town advertise their services. Today was the day, and I looked at and read each one carefully. Yes, for years I got calls from the local newspaper about putting the ads in the “banner” page for the Lutheran Church of Honolulu.

This year I haven’t been completely idle — I was asked to design newspaper ads for St. Andrew’s Cathedral, which also included doing posters, postcards and program ads. Here is a sampling of some of my handiwork.

As you can see, I’ve been a busy little beaver — this is what retirement is all about, folks! Are we having fun, yet?!
