If you had gone to the Early Music Hawaii concert Saturday night, you may have seen this little blurb in the program:
Upcoming concert of interest to Early Music lovers:
Organists 1-2-3: Music for One, Two and Three Organs. For the first time in Hawaii, concertgoers will have the rare opportunity to experience music for one, two and three pipe organs by Italian and German composers from the 16th to 18th centuries. Join organists Katherine Crosier, Jieun Kim Newland and Sachi P. Hirakouji in a delightful evening of organ solos, duets and even trios. Lutheran Church of Honolulu, Saturday, October 13, 7:30 pm. A benefit for the Scholarship Fund of the American Guild of Organists and the Lutheran Church of Honolulu Music Fund.
I figured that as long as I was laying out the program, I may as well put in a little shameless self-promotion!
Credit also is due to Bill Potter, who took our picture on the night before I left for Switzerland. He had to practically lay on the floor to photograph us from this particular angle! Thank you, Bill!
A few people asked me whether the third organ was going to be a pipe or digital. Pipe of course! It is the organ from my condo, and it was moved to the church this afternoon as you can see by the pictures below. Thanks to S & S Delivery for their always careful job in moving the organ!
This afternoon we were ready for our first rehearsal!
We are having so much fun!
I can’t wait for this! I have it in my calendar. 🙂
