On Sunday afternoon at Peter Hallock’s funeral service, there was a special note in the program at the time of the offering:
An offering of money is received. The offering will support the founding of the Hallock Institute, a shared ministry of the Compline Choir, Saint Mark’s Cathedral, and Diocese of Olympia, for which Peter made provision in his last will and testament. Three primary functions of the institute are to ensure that Peter Hallock and his music is known and readily available in affordable, reliable performance editions; ensure that Peter’s works are performed regularly by offering grants to churches and performing organizations to help underwrite the cost of hiring musicians; and, ensure that the Compline Choir and its core values and principles — the Compline ethos — are identified, celebrated, and shared with others through workshops, symposia, and other educational opportunities. Please give generously; make checks payable to ‘The Hallock Institute.’
The Hallock Institute will be separately incorporated as a fully-integrated auxiliary of the Diocese of Olympia. Right now, the money received is being held in trust by the diocese and will then be fed into the new corporation once articles of incorporation are completed. I might add that readers of this blog are certainly invited to give to this worthy cause:
