Today was the one and only rehearsal with the Bach Chamber Choir, the ensemble which will sing the four-part chorales in front of each chorale setting of the Great Eighteen Chorales.
Tomorrow is the Big Day! We will arrive at the church at noon to turn the church into a concert hall by turning the pews to face the organ. Carl Crosier will also tune the reed pipes of the organ as they are more sensitive to heat and humidity fluctuations, while I hold down the keys. The courtyard will be set up with a ticket table.
If you have not yet purchased your tickets, we suggest that you arrive early. The parking lot directly behind the church will be reserved for the handicapped and elderly. Ample parking is available in the Poki lot, one-half block mauka of the church. The ticket table will be set up at 1 pm, and doors will open at 1:30.
As has been our custom, Carl and I wore matching Bach T-shirts to the rehearsal. In case you are wondering, we probably have at least a half-dozen different Bach T-shirts!
Good luck today Katherine! I know you don’t need it as you have prepared well. I live in Virginia…..wish I could be there to hear you. I can’t wait to hear how it goes. Peace!!!!
Thank you! I absolutely love this music and hope it will carry through to the audience.
