In addition to this blog, the Lutheran Church of Honolulu also has a FaceBook page to connect with its members and friends. Some readers of this blog, however, are not FaceBook users and wouldn’t ordinarily see all the pictures and news that is posted here. So I’m going to share some of the photos that have been posted there from last Sunday’s Choral Vespers services, in addition to sharing the “thank you” email sent to the choir by Miguel Felipe.
Many thanks for your contribution to last night’s vespers service. It was a wonderful evening of music and we had an excellent congregation in attendance. Thank you to the Bach Chamber Orchestra for their beautiful, stylistic playing; to the Crosiers for all their additional music and logistical support; to Allen for a heap of things!; to Jeff, Sarah, and those in the LCH ‘ohana who helped make the evening’s logistics work; and to the LCH choir for their hours of rehearsal and dedication to our grand vision of music in Honolulu.
I was especially thrilled by the extra help I receive in my first Vespers… needless to say, it was a group effort! And finally, another BRAVO to Allen Bauchle today, his last official day as Assistant Choirmaster. I hope we don’t get a chance to miss him!
Last season was a year of “lasts” — Carl Crosier’s last Bach Vespers, his last Advent Procession, his last Christmas, his last Holy Week, etc. This will be a year of “firsts” — Miguel’s first concert, his first Vespers, and his first Advent Procession, which will be coming up on Sunday, November 27th at 7:30 pm.
