Tomorrow night we are looking forward to the first Thursday night choir rehearsal with Miguel Felipe and already it’s been a jumpstart into the 21st century! He sent out the following message: I can’t fully express how excited I am to serve at LCH. The robust program—the entire program—is a bold and beautiful expression of LCH as a faith community. I look forward to carrying on with this rich tradition.
A Google calendar link has been sent to all choristers with all the pertinent dates, and with the dates available online, one can even subscribe via an HTML version, an iCal version or an RSS feed. Hello, technology!
You’ll notice right away that there is a “biggie” almost every month in addition to the regular weekly Thursday rehearsal and Sunday service. The first concert event will be an all-Mozart program on October 1st and repeated October 2nd. Carl Crosier will debut the fortepiano once owned by his college piano teacher, Else Geissmar, which now resides in our condo. Darel and Georgine Stark will bring their magic to this program with a Mozart Violin Concerto and the Mozart Exultate jubilate. The LCH Choir will also be performing a short work.
A Bach Vespers is tentatively scheduled for the end of October, Advent Procession on the first Sunday of Advent and the usual Christmas marathon.
Will this be “Another Year of Insanity”? Stay tuned!
I can guarantee another year of insanity… in one form or another! And note that the 8 O’Clock and Compline folks have calendars too!
Let the good times roll…
