One of the really great things about attending the Boston Early Music Festival is the sometimes chance meetings we have with people with whom we have made music. Two nights ago we were coming out of Jordan Hall from a concert and walked by an outdoor cafe. There was Richard Savino, theorbo player from our Monteverdi concerts! So of course I had to take his picture but had to do it with a phone since the battery on my camera had died.

Then yesterday morning we were on our way to the Radisson Hotel when on the street we ran into Meg Bragle, the outstanding alto from our Bach B-Minor Mass! We knew she was going to give a concert on Saturday night, but what are the chances that we would meet her on the street!

Then last night when we came out of Jordan Hall from the Tallis Scholars concert, Jeannette Johnson and I were walking on our way back to the T-stop (train), and we were wondering why Carl and Ian Capps were so slow in catching up with us. Apparently when they walked by the same outdoor cafe, there was Meg Bragle again! So they made plans to meet for breakfast.

In previous posts, I’ve already talked about running into Derek Chester (our Monteverdi tenor) and Jennifer Lane, who has sung in several of our musical productions, including the Bach St. Matthew Passion, St. John Passion and Pergolesi Stabat Mater.

And the chance encounter with my former organ teacher, Joan Lippincott, was priceless. I’m so sorry I didn’t get a chance to take her picture.

We’ll look forward to Meg Bragle’s concert tonight, which STARTS at 11:15 pm!
