Here’s another endorsement for the Monteverdi Vespers from Hawaii Public Radio’s Judy Neale: Congratulations to Early Music Hawaii and the Lutheran Church of Honolulu for a phenomenal performance of the Monteverdi Vespers at the Co-Cathedral of St. Theresa last night (and now I even know what a co-cathedral is!). Carl Crosier and his cohorts have so much to be incredibly proud of.
There is one more performance tomorrow, Sunday, November 7th at 4:00 pm at St. Andrew’s Cathedral.
If you would like to download a copy of the 16-page program which includes a complete set of texts and translations, program notes and artist bios, you can click here: Monteverdi Booklet. The artwork on the front cover is the Coronation of the Virgin altarpiece at San Marco by Sandro Botticelli and the back cover is a photograph of the interior of the San Marco Basilica on MuseumPlanet.com.
Here are some more pictures of last night’s amazing performance. Thanks again to Andrew Fink for taking pictures during the concert.
Thank you so much for the informative blogs on the Vespers! I am looking forward to the performance at St. Andrew’s Cathedral. I am also looking forward to the Bach B-minor Mass performance, as I have sung the St. Matthew Passion just last summer and really enjoy singing Bach.
